As well as a being a new public space in the town of Lyngby, the plaza is the new face of the company BRFkredit. As such it is designed to be inviting, calm, and modern. It is furnished with elements that in scale correspond to the new HQ and the larger neighboring buildings.
Precise triangular grass slopes form the low pyramid like shapes of the rooftop park area complementing the edged design of the facades and at the same time constituting the transition to street level to the east.
The project consists of two main plazas, which extend across the water and are positioned with regards to sunlight and wind conditions. To the south, the pier allows for a flexible public space on the water with facilities to host events related to the creative industry.
The plaza is laid out as a unifying urban space for Bavnehøj Arena, Bavnehøj Child Care Center and Bavnehøj Public Bath, as well as the local soccer fields. Traffic, parking and plaza are clearly separated in a way that makes movement in the area simple and natural whether you arrive by bike, on foot or by car.
